Electric is for everyone

Electric is for everyone, but which car is right for you comes down to what your daily commute and lifestyle looks like. If your daily mileage is not excessive, and you have access to a charging point at home or work, a fully electric car could be ideal. If you do mainly long journeys then a Plug-in Hybrid might be better. Either way, here’s three reasons why an EV might be your perfect next car.

Electric is cost-effective.
The cost to power a vehicle with electricity is considerably cheaper than petrol or diesel.*

Electric is convenient.
The UK’s EV charging network is growing rapidly which means finding a place to plug your car in is easier than ever before.

Electric is sustainable.
Choosing an electric car means you will be reducing your CO2 emissions and contributing to cleaner air quality for everyone

Running costs are low

With the technology behind electric vehicles improving at such a pace, the cost of EV ownership has never been more affordable than it is today. With all sales of new petrol and diesel cars being banned from 2030, the future of driving is most certainly electric. You could find yourself pleasantly surprised by the financial savings afforded to you by much cheaper electric car running costs. On average, and at current electricity prices, driving an MG ZS EV Long Range costs 60% less to run than an equivalent petrol or diesel car.

An overnight charge at home is the cheapest way to ‘re-fuel’ costing just over £14.20† to charge the New MG ZS EV from empty. * Figures are intended for comparability purposes. The fuel consumption/electric range you achieve under real life driving conditions will depend upon a number of factors including the accessories fitted after registration, variations in driving styles, weather conditions and vehicle load. † Overnight charge costs based on 21 pence per kWh (from 10% to 100% battery state of charge). *† All calculations are based on March 2022 figures.

Charging is easy

1. First, make sure your EV is switched OFF and stationary.

2. Always read the instructions on the unit before you connect the charger

3. You can turn the car ON to check other systems while the car is charging.

4. To finish charging ensure your vehicle is switched OFF

5. DO NOT attempt to remove the charger before stopping the charge session

6. Once charged, unplug your vehicle and close the charge flap

Charging is convenient

The UK has an expanding EV charging network approaching 30,000 charge points at convenient locations to support more EV motorists on-the-go than ever.

The websites listed below offer a comprehensive listing of charge points and whether they are occupied and/or active. The most convenient way to charge your EV is using a standard 7kW home charger, but if you need a boost while travelling, rapid charge points offer in excess of an 80% charge* in under an hour.
