JAECOO is owned by Chery Automotive, a big player in Asian markets and one of the world’s largest automotive exporters. Along with the sister brand, OMODA, the new marques are looking to make an impact in Europe, backed by a company with extensive automotive experience.
Of the two new challenger brands, JAECOO is the more rugged. While its SUVs are more than capable of tackling rougher terrain, the models also boast contemporary looks and innovative technology. What they’ve done excellently is respond to evolving consumer trends, not just seeing cars as a means of transport but as symbols of lifestyles and aspirations. So the range of cars delivers plenty of capability, lots of style and technological connectivity, but without the prices associated with luxury brands. And drivers are responding well, with both JAECOO and OMODA strategically outpacing many established names.
Serving as the brand's flagship model, this mid-size SUV is available with a powerful 1.6l turbocharged petrol engine or with next generation hybrid technology, the SHS (Super Hybrid System), offering a range of 700 miles. It has 2WD and all-wheel drive (AWD) capabilities.
The more compact offering, the JAECOO 5 appeals to a wide range of drivers and is also available with turbocharged petrol engine or as a fully electric vehicle with a range of 248 miles and powerful 155 kW motor.
Expanding beyond its primary markets in China and Southeast Asia, JAECOO is working with established dealer networks and new partnerships in the UK.

JAECOO’s determination to stand out and set a new standard for urban off-road SUVs is evident even from its unusual name. A blend created from the German word 'Jaeger', meaning 'hunter', and the English word, 'cool'.
But beyond the name, JAECOO (and OMODA) are committed to mechanical reliability, customer satisfaction and long-term value. This is showcased by all models coming with a seven-year/100,000-mile manufacturer’s warranty – a great reason to consider them over more mainstream brands. They offer free roadside assistance for the duration of the warranty (in a partnership with the RAC and so long as regular servicing is maintained at authorised centres).
JAECOO vehicles are primarily manufactured in Wuhu, China, but Chery Automotive has numerous factories worldwide including destinations in Malaysia, other Southeast Asia locations, and across the globe.
