Accountant
Waylands Reading and Newbury
Due to the continuing success of Waylands we are looking for an experienced Accountant to join the team at our Volvo dealerships in Reading and Newbury. You’ll be responsible for both sites but will be based at Newbury.
What’s the Role?
This is a wide and varied role. Key tasks include:
- Managing the day to day accounting operations of the dealership, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Providing guidance to dealership management at both sites and preparing reports for meetings and updates.
- Reviewing the workloads of Accounts team members to ensure that they are efficiently working towards agreed deadlines.Working with and supporting the team to overcome any problems/issues.
- Reconcile and maintain manufacturer debt accounts for manufacturer bonuses reporting any risks to FC
- Reconciling and maintaining finance & insurance debt accounts
- Achievement of agreed Management Accounts preparation and publication
- Composite submission and correction of any warning/errors
- Completion of ad hoc projects at request of Finance Director or Financial Controller
- Liaison with other departments to improve systems and communication
- Liaison with other departments to reduce cost controls.Evidencing of cost reduction
- Identify areas of profit opportunity or leakage within the department
- Ensuring cash opportunities are maximised at all times
- 3 years accountancy experience, ideally within the motor trade
- Preferably knowledge of Keyloop software (but not essential)
- A professional accounting qualification is desirable
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multi task and work to deadlines
