Will I be charged any fees to sell my car?

There are no additional fees when it comes to selling your car. The valuation you are quoted is the amount that will be paid into your bank account (subject to your car being in the condition it has been described as).

What if I have outstanding finance on my car will you still buy it?

Yes. We deal with finance settlements every day, so we can arrange the settlement of your current agreement. Our associates will guide you through this process on the day, and the settlement amount will be deducted from the amount paid to you for the car.

What if the finance outstanding on the vehicle is more than the valuation you provide?

We can buy your vehicle, but you will have to pay us the difference in outstanding finance and the value of the car.

What documents do I need to sell my car?

When you come to sell your car, you will need to ensure you have the following documents with you to complete the sale:
  • Proof of ID (either a photocard driving licence with the address matching that on the V5C or passport and proof of address dated within the last 3 months)
  • V5C/Log Book (in the name of the person selling the vehicle)
  • MOT Certificate (with a minimum of 3 months remaining)
  • Spare Keys (if available)
  • Service History (if available)
  • A copy of your finance settlement letter (if you have outstanding finance to be cleared) OR a clearance letter if you have recently paid any finance on the vehicle.
  • Bank details, so we can make any payment due to you

What happens to insurance when I sell my car?

You will need to ensure that you cancel your car insurance when you sell your car (if it is no longer required), or have it transferred to your new vehicle.

What happens to road tax when I sell my car?

Road tax is non-transferrable, so you will need to contact the DVLA to let them know that you have sold your car. They will then be able to start the process of cancelling and refunding any full months of remaining tax.

What if I don’t have a V5 registration document?

We are unable to purchase any car without the original V5 document (log book).

What if the V5 is not in my name?

The V5 (log book) holds the details of the registered keeper of the vehicle. To prevent fraud, we will only purchase a vehicle from you if it is your name on the V5.

Will you buy my car if it has a cherished (private) plate on it?

We’re happy to buy your car with its cherished plate still on. However in the more likely event that you want to keep your plate, it’s easy to reassign it to another car or put it on retention. This would need to be done prior to selling your car to us to find out more about your personalised registration please visit the DVLA website.

Can I sell a deceased relative's car?

1. The price offered will be subject to a physical inspection of the vehicle when visiting the dealership.

2. The vehicle must have at least 1 month remaining on its MOT and be in a fit and roadworthy condition.

3. A registration document(V5) in your name is held.

5. Whenever we quote a Price, that Price is in Pounds Sterling and is inclusive of United Kingdom-rated VAT where applicable.

6. Whilst we try to ensure that all Prices provided are accurate, mistakes can sometimes occur. If we discover an error in the Price we will contact you as soon as possible and give you the option of either reconfirming your Offer at the correct Price or cancelling it. If we are unable to contact you we will treat the contract as being cancelled.

7. All prices quoted are valid for 7 days and could be affected by a significant increase in mileage or change in condition of the vehicle.
