Waylands - Digital Marketing Lead

We’re looking for a Digital Marketing Lead to own and drive our performance marketing strategy, with a strong focus on PPC and SEO. This is a hands-on role for someone who loves data, growth, and turning insight into action.

You’ll be responsible for planning, executing and optimising paid and organic search activity to ensure that it is aligned with our wider marketing strategy to support business growth.

Waylands is a successful and growing motor retail group, with 15 representation points across the Thames Valley and the M4 corridor, extending into South Wales.

Key Responsibilities

  • To develop, implement, and refine Search, Performance Max, and Display campaigns to maximise ROAS and conversions.
  • To drive organic traffic growth through a robust SEO roadmap, including technical auditing, content planning and keyword monitoring.
  • To support website development projects, coordinating with developers, designers and consultants (where required) to bring a technical SEO perspective to support the maintenance of rankings and improve user experience.
  • To own analytics and reporting, tracking performance through GA4, Google Search Console and Google AdWords, including dedicated SEO platforms, to demonstrate ROI.
  • To liaise with external agencies or developers, where required for website development or content production, such as videographers.
  • To provide insight into customer search behaviour to help inform operational teams on vehicle merchandising and market trends.
  • To ensure compliance with manufacturer and Group CI guidelines, quarterly manufacturer marketing mandates, as well as financial promotions guidelines in all of our marketing activity.
  • To collaborate with internal teams and agency partners to ensure that our tactical marketing activity is aligned with our wider business and marketing objectives.
  • To identify and suggest new emerging platforms and avenues for digital outreach.

About You

  • Proven experience in digital marketing or performance marketing role
  • Strong hands-on expertise in PPC and SEO
  • Data-driven, analytical and comfortable working with performance metrics
  • Experience with tools such as Google Ads, GA4, Search Console, and SEO platforms, e.g. SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with day-to-day execution
  • Confident communicator, able to explain performance and recommendations clearly
  • Experience leading projects or mentoring others is a plus
